American Literature - Concept Builder 1-A

  • Authority - Is the Bible important to you? Do you obey God and other authorities - your parents - even when doing so is uncomfortable?
Yes. Yes, even when it's uncomfortable or difficult.
  • Pleasure - What do you enjoy doing? Does it please God?
Drawing, spending time with my horse, etc. Yes.
  • Fate - What/Who really determines your life? Chances? Circumstances? God?
God determines life to an extent. Major and even minor things all fall under His choice and everything falls under his power and jurisdiction too, but I believe that many things that happen in live are the result of patterns and action/reactions God has previously put in place.
  • Justice - What are the consequences of our actions? Is there some sort of judgement? Do bad people suffer? Why do good people suffer?
The consequences of our actions come in both the immediate, physical form, as well as in the form of judgement from God. Each person suffers, whether early in life or not at all - but after life from God's judgement. Suffering is a test to encourage one to keep on the straight and narrow path, and the ending of suffering is a reward for those who passed.
